Three scouts earn Eagle awards

Three local Chaska High School seniors from Boy Scout Troop 589 -- Jonathan Early, Conner Kujak and Jacob Meier -- were presented with the Eagle Scout Award, scouting’s highest rank, on Jan. 22.

Firemen’s Park receives honors

The Minnesota Park and Recreation Association (MPRA) presented the Chaska Parks and Recreation Department the Tommy Johnson award for the top project of 2016 for Firemen’s Park. The award was presented Jan. 9, according to a press release.

Free gardening classes at area libraries

A series of free gardening classes offered by the Carver-Scott Extension Master Gardeners will teach participants about seed starting, vegetable gardening, growing herbs or perennials, making a garden eco-friendly, adding shrubs to a landscape and other gardening topics.

Trinity Development and M/I Homes (Hans Hagen) Planning a New Neighborhood in Carver

The City Council and Planning Commission will be reviewing a Concept Plan for another new neighborhood in Carver. A Concept Plan has been submitted by Trinity Development, partnering with M/I Homes (known by many as Hans Hagen), for the development of 147 homes, on approximately 50 acres, just east of the Spring Creek housing development on Spring Creek Drive.  The Planning Commission will be reviewing the Concept Plan at their meeting on Thursday, February 16 at 6:30 pm at the Church By The River.  For more information on this project please click here.

Treacherous Monday morning commute

Crashes were seen about 8:30 a.m. in the eastbound lane of Highway 212 near the border of Chanhassen and Chaska as well as on the Highway 41 bridge over Highway 212 in the northbound lanes.
