Report: State’s fatal work-related injuries increased in 2015
A total of 74 fatal work-related injuries were recorded in Minnesota in 2015, an increase from 62 in 2014 and 69 in 2013, according to a report issued Monday by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry.

Canterbury 2017 meet to start early, with break during season

Carver On The Minnesota is hosting a meeting on Bird Watching at the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge. The talk will be held at the Church By The River in Carver at 7pm Wednesday January 11th. There will be no cost; however, they will accept donations as there will be coffee and snacks. (Read more…) The speaker for the evening will be Suzanne Trapp. Ms. Trapp is the Environmental Education lead, and casual birdwatcher, for Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge. She has 25+ years of experience leading students, families, and visitors on a variety of outdoor explorations. She has 17 years experience working for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. A native of Florida, Suzanne especially enjoys visiting the winter grounds of the birds she sees throughout the fall, spring and summer on the refuge. Mrs Trapp has spent the last 24 years in the Twin Cities and has raised 2 boys who are also pursuing outdoor careers. Her family enjoys spending time up north at the cabin, international travel, and hiking adventures throughout the country.
Please join them for the evening. The Refuge is a valuable resource for Carver and the region, and this is an opportunity to learn more about it.
