City of Carver Awarded Innovative Business Development Public Infrastructure Grant

The City of Carver was awarded $977,000 from the Department of Employment and Economic Development for construction a new City street to be named Commerce Drive.

Commerce Drive will be a north/south City street with access from Levi Griffin Road.  “The addition of Commerce Drive will create an opportunity for additional commercial, retail and industrial development north of Highway 212, which will bring jobs and a more diversified tax base to the City of Carver” said Mayor Courtney Johnson. The Innovative Business Development Public Infrastructure Grant is awarded for job creation via new businesses and organizations. Construction of Commerce Drive is anticipated to begin Spring 2019.
