Resident Survey: 7 Questions on the Carver and Chaska Recreation Partnership
In 2015 the City of Carver formed a partnership with the City of Chaska for recreation services. The City of Carver pays $51,250 annually for resident rates at the Chaska Community Center, Curling Center, and Town Course. In addition, Chaska provides staffing to plan community events and recreation programs in Carver. With the agreement up for renewal, resident satisfaction with the partnership will be critical in determining how to move forward. With that in mind, a simple seven question survey has been developed for you to share your thoughts on the partnership and to assist in identifying new opportunities for the future.
Survey responses will be collected through Wednesday, July 31.

Duckweed: Don’t let it ruffle your feathers
Often mistaken for algae, duckweed offers many benefits to water quality and wildlife. Duckweed looks like tiny individual smooth green dots with little roots. Algae looks more like a mat of fuzzy green with no indistinguishable pieces. See if you can spot the difference this summer. Learn by more by clicking HERE.

On Wednesday residents and business owners gathered to learn more about a newly developed concept to certify the City’s flood levee system. Attendees were provided with information on the levee certification process, as well as early drawings of what the project may look like if completed. The session also provided an opportunity for residents and business owners to share specific obstacles and challenges the City may encounter during the certification process. Residents shared concerns regarding possible impacts to their property, construction timing, and overall costs to complete the project. Going forward the City will be continue to search for funding partners for the project. The City recently submitted a grant application to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
