Starting July 13:
Installation of a temporary signal system is planned to begin the week of July 13 at the intersection of Jonathan Carver Parkway and Monroe Drive as part of the Carver Commons/Kwik Trip development. Minor traffic impacts are anticipated as the new temporary signal system is constructed.

On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, crews will be paving the areas downtown which were impacted during the storm sewer installation. Minor impacts to traffic will occur during this time. Riverside Park access will be maintained through this work. Paving is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day.

Note: With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, City and County election officials encourage voters to request a ballot by U.S. mail to help protect residents and City and County employees.. A recent change means that pre-registered voters using an absentee ballot by mail don’t require a witness signature. Non-registered absentee voters registering as part of their absentee voting by mail process still must have a witness signature. All registered voters can return ballots that are postmarked by Election Day.
The City of Carver (population 4,990) is seeking a self-motivated individual, capable of growing into a supervisory position, in the area of utility operations for a growing community expected to reach a population of 10,000 by 2030. Essential functions of the position include managing, operating, and maintaining the municipal water infrastructure, wastewater, storm water, and flood protection activities.
Minimum qualifications for the position include High School diploma or equivalent, Class B commercial driver’s license with air brake and tanker endorsement from the State of Minnesota, MDH Class C Water License, MPCA Class SC Collection System License or MPCA Class C Wastewater License, five years of experience in municipal utilities, and one year of supervisory experience.
The salary for this position, is established by a collective bargaining agreement, with a starting pay range of $27.79 to $31.20 per hour, depending on individual qualifications. The position is eligible for overtime pay, as well as paid time off and an excellent benefits package.

Paving Notice: Wearing course paving on Sunny Ridge Drive and Elm Drive has been scheduled for Thursday, June 25, 2020. This will be a single day operation with minimal impact to property access.

The low river levels are affecting the City’s ability to clean the boat landing in Riverside Park.
Access to the boat landing will be limited until the Minnesota River levels return to normal and staff can thoroughly clean the boat landing and make it fully accessible.

Veteran Shredding will be at Community Park (800 6th Street West) from 9:00 am. to 11:00 a.m. on June 13 to collect your paper waste for shredding. There will be a two-box limit per vehicle. This is a free event but donations will be accepted.
The City of Carver is issuing the results of monitoring done on its drinking water for the period of January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2019. The purpose of this report is to advance consumers’ understanding of drinking water and heighten awareness of the need to protect precious water resources. Construction Notice – June 3, 2020
Riverside Park will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, June 8 and 9, for storm sewer construction taking place on Main Street.
Crews will be installing storm sewer pipes on the north side of Main Street, east of Oak Street to Riverside Park (weather permitting). During this work, Riverside Park will be inaccessible. Please see the map below showing the work area:
