Carver Community Youth Baseball/Softball Association

CCYBSA has been busy working on programs for 2019. Registrations will be open on January 7th, 2019.
We will have a combination of In-house community programs and Travel programs in both, Softball and
Baseball and we will also have T-Ball.

We will have an Informational Night, January 3rd at Carver Place (113 3rd Street/Carver) for parents to
come and ask question as to where they can/should register their child.

If we have anyone in the community who would be interested in becoming a part of the CCYBSA
Program, we are looking for that person that would work with our T-Ball Program. We will have a
stipend for your service. If interested in being this person, please send an e-mail to:

Opinion: Lights at Carver Fields

I would like to comment on the issue of installing lights at the new Carver fields. As a coordinator of our fields, we have had MANY times where having lights would have either saved games being postponed or not being able to be played for various reasons.

Carver is growing. Our field requirements are growing. Tuesday and Thursday nights all the fields are double booked and games have to be shortened so we can get the games in. And that is when we have the most sun light.

I did read the article in the Chaska paper regarding lights in surrounding communities and who had or doesn’t have lights. It did say that Victoria did not have any lights. That would be incorrect. I do use 2 of their fields THAT DO HAVE LIGHTS for our Monday and Wednesday night games.

This year for our Year End Softball tournament we had to reschedule 2 games because of darkness and not having lights. Carver fields were part of that mix.

Please reconsider putting lights in now versus the issues and costs that would occur at a later date. CARVER is growing and having these 2 fields with lights would make us one of the top communities on fields for Baseball and Softball and other sports that could use these fields. Some of the added Fall events that lights would be needed for are Fall Softball (which we could offer) youth football via the schools, La cross or soccer and other events that I am not aware of. The options are open but they do need lights in the fall.

I would like to Thank-you for hearing me (with special concerts for the CCYBSA programs for our youth of Carver and surrounding communities) and being able to express my concerns on this subject.

CCYBSA Pitching Clinic

Hello Carver Softball Parents,

Please join the Carver Softball Association along with the other 3CV league communities for a PITCHING CLINIC for the girls who will be attending 4th or 5th grade in the coming school year.

This clinic will be led by a former collegiate softball pitcher with assistance from many of the current 3CV coaches. The clinic will focus on pitching mechanics and technique’s as well as getting the girls arms ready for the upcoming season.

  • Dates/Times: 2/21, 2/28, and 3/13 from 3:00-4:00 PM
  • Location: Victoria Elementary Gym
  • Cost: $5 per girl per session (this is to cover the facility rental)
  • Bring: A glove, tennis shoes and someone to catch for your girl

We would love to see all the girls attend these clinics whether they are a pitcher today, aspire to be one tomorrow or just to get back into Softball shape. The clinic(s) will help them develop their throwing form, strength and catching technique.

To register or for more questions, please contact Brian Boche from Chaska at [email protected]

This clinic is a joint effort by all of the 3CV communities and is being organized and staffed by your Carver coaches! Again, we really want to see our Carver Girls represent our community and be prepared for a successful 2016 season!

Thanks,

Carver Softball Coaches

CCYBSA Year End Season Tournament

3CV league (Carver, Chanhassen, Chaska, Victoria and new towns of Eden Prairie and Shakopee).

This year our league had 42 teams with 475 youth playing In-House Fast Pitch Softball. We completed the year end tournament week July 14th thru 19th with 67 games that were played on the coldest, rainiest evening of the season, a game being suspended until Saturday because the lights were going to turn off, to having to clear the fields in the championship games because the rain decided to just open up.

With our new format of playing games during the week and the final 3 rounds on Saturday we do need community support. A special Thanks to all for supporting the league and for having tournament games during the week ending with Friday Night and Saturday hosted at Chaska Pioneer fields. Great venue and support from the Chaska’s program.

Friday evening we have the ‘Year-End Bash for our 2nd/3rd grade girls. They play 2 games, have a Freeze and get their medals. What a great turn-out.

On Saturday our games started at 9AM and concluded with the Championship games for all age brackets at 1PM. With the tournament being a Double Elimination tournament, we had 2 of the 4 teams playing a 2nd game to determine who the Champion was. We had many 1 point games and games that had to use the ‘International Tie breaker rule’ to determine who was going to win.

The Final results are:

4th/5th

  • Champions Victoria – Poncin
  • 2nd Place Chaska Pennertz Gold
  • Consolation Chaska Dolan Purple

6th/7th

  • Champions Chaska Sutherland
  • 2nd Place Victoria – Flemmer
  • Consolation Eden Prairie Benson

8th/9th

  • Champions Carver Red Ryan
  • 2nd Place Chaska Grothe
  • Consolation Eden Prairie Huges

High School

  • Champions Carver Red Guenther
  • 2nd Place Victoria – Endres
  • Consolation Victoria – Jensen
