City of Carver – Seasonal Maintenance Worker
City of Carver is seeking motivated candidates for seasonal Maintenance Worker positions in the Public Services Department. This seasonal position will perform maintenance duties at city parks, facilities, athletic fields, and various landscape locations throughout summer/fall. Duties include but not limited to: mowing and weed whipping, cleaning of park shelters, maintaining playground equipment for safety, attending to flowers and shrubs throughout the city, and other duties as assigned.  Operate city vehicles and equipment.  Must be 16 years of age or older to apply. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

SouthWest students receive honors

Students from SouthWest Metro Career and Technical Education programs attended the 51st Annual Minnesota State SkillsUSA Championships Conference on March 27-28 in Bloomington. Two of the eight students will advance to the National Competition this summer.

April 12, 1934: The latest achievement of a Chaska native is a unique one. George J. Ruediger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Ruediger, of this city has won for himself the title of champion liar of the Northwest. The crowning took place at the Northwest Sports Show in Minneapolis Wednesday night.
