Women’s History Month Profile: Brooke Beyer

Brooke Beyer is the director of community events and marketing for the Wayzata Chamber of Commerce. In her time with the chamber, the city’s beloved festivals— including James J. Hill Days, Chilly Open and the Wayzata Art Experience—have become annual events that draw thousands from across the Twin Cities.

What happened on this date in local history?

March 8, 1928: The Happ Auditorium, which is now being used for roller skating and basketball, has a fine new $550 Brunswick Panatrope, purchased at the Burkhart Furniture Store. It is not only a handsome instrument, but from a musical standpoint, one of the greatest inventions ever made in the phonograph line.
