Chaska Fire Department given grant

The Chaska Fire Department was one of six volunteer fire departments in Minnesota that received a grant from RDO Equipment Co.

County to vote on controversial yard waste site on Feb. 20

The Carver County Board of Commissioners plans to discuss and vote on moving a brush and yard waste removal site during its 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20 meeting. The measure would move the site from the Carver County Environmental Center to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Victoria.

Highlights from the Fire Department’s Ice Fishing Contest in pictures

Hundreds gathered for the 61st annual Chaska Fire Department Ice Fishing Contest Saturday at Firemen’s Park. It was the first time since 2014 that ice on Firemen’s Clayhole was thick enough to fish on during the tournament.

The Chaska Speech Team competed in the East Ridge Speech Tournament in Woodbury last Saturday, placing 9th as a team out of 36 teams.
