Chaska speech competes in two tourneys

The Chaska team split forces this past weekend, attending two separate local tournaments. Twenty-five students traveled to Woodbury High School, placing 10th out of 17 teams from Minnesota. Twenty-two students traveled to Lakeville North, placing 7th out of 21 teams.

Zbinden honored for compost research

Marcus Zbinden, an environmental specialist with Carver County since 1991, received the U.S. Composting Council (USCC) 2016 Rufus Chaney Award. He was formally presented with the award at the USCC National Conference in Los Angeles Jan. 23-26.

Wrestling: Three to the podium

Next Thanksgiving, right about the time wrestling season begins, it might get brought up that Collin Olevson finished fifth in the Class 3A State Tournament his final season at Chanhassen.

Mental Health council seeks members

The Carver County Mental Health Advisory Council is currently recruiting members. The council advises the Carver County Board on mental health services and needs within the county, looking at successes and areas for improvement.
