Chanhassen- Carver County Day at the Arboretum: Friday July 14, 2017

Chanhassen and Carver County residents will get free entry into the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum (8 AM-8 PM) on July 14th. The event begins with a public welcome in the Oswald Visitor Center by Arboretum Director Peter Moe and other elected city and county officials at 10 AM with complementary coffee, juice and bagels.

-Story time at 10:30 AM in the Great Hall featuring books on bugs and plants suitable for children.
-A free, guided garden highlights tour starting at 11 AM, meet at the information desk in Oswald Visitor Center prior to 11 AM.
-Enjoy an EXCLUSIVE look in the new Tashjian Bee and Pollinator Discovery Center.
-Explore the Arboretum using the free Tree Scavenger Hunt sheet and receive a sweet prize upon completion.
-See the “Amazing Spaces, Places and Escapes: Re-imagining Tree Houses” summer exhibit featuring 12 unique outdoor structures.

Mark Your Calendars for Tuesday, August 1, 2017
(Registration Deadline – Wednesday, July 26)

The City of Carver “Night to Unite” (formerly National Night Out) is an evening when neighbors throughout the city, state, and country gather to   get to know one another and promote community safety. The goals of the event are to:

  • Heighten awareness and prevention of crime, drugs, and violence.
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs.
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

The Carver Fire Department and Sheriff will attempt to visit all registered block/home parties during the above scheduled times.  The departments will arrive and depart at various times, depending on the number of registered parties. Emergency vehicles are on call for duty at all times.
