Carver Black Sox Qualify for State Tournament!
The Carver Black Sox have qualified for the Minnesota Amateur Baseball State Tournament!
The Black Sox will play a seeding game on Saturday, August 12, at 12:30 p.m. in New Germany.
The State Tournament begins on Thursday, August 19, in Green Isle, Hamburg and Norwood. The Black Sox’s first tournament game will be determined after the Region 7 games conclude this weekend.

r Black Sox have advanced to the Region 7C Amateur Baseball Tournament!
CRVL Region 7C Playoffs begin this Thursday, August 3. Carver will play their first game on Friday, August 4, at 7:30 pm versus Young America at Waconia Lions Park.
Tournament schedules will be posted at crvlbaseball.com.
Construction Notice – Mount Hope Road
Beginning August 7, construction work will be performed in the Hallblade Development to:
1) remove an existing water/sewer line,
2) place two new water and service lines to lots in the development, and
3) patch the existing street, curb and gutter, and trails in these areas.
A portion of Mount Hope Road, north of Debbie Lane, will be closed during this project and traffic will be detoured while the work is being done. A map of the detour can be found by clicking here.
The project schedule (weather permitting) is as follows:
- July 31 or August 1 – Install advance warning signs saying “Road Closed Beginning August 7”.
- August 7 – Construction begins and detour signage installed.
- August 7 – August 11 – utility and curb and gutter work.
- August 9 – Water shutdown – property owners affected by the shut-down will be notified on Monday, August 7.
- August 14 – Asphalt patching.
- August 15 – Construction completed and open to traffic.
The Contractor will plan to open the roadway to traffic on the weekend of August 12 and 13. They will then close it again on August 14 for the asphalt patching.

Scouting Series – August 17 and 18
Calling all scouts (Boy and Girl Scouts are welcome)! Are you looking for a way to earn those merit badges? This outing may meet some of your requirements. Join us for the hands-on, two-day series covering geocaching, archery, and a canoe river trip! Geocaching instruction includes using GPS navigation to find the hidden caches along trails and open areas. Archery includes experiential learning, including range safety and proper techniques for stance, aim, and release to become consistent archers. Although this course is geared towards scouting, you do not need to be a scout to sign up for this course, everyone is welcome to learn. Participants should come prepared for the weather and bring a snack. All other necessary equipment will be provided.
Ages 8 to 17.
Thursday, August 17 and Friday, August 18, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
We request that one chaperone from each troop assist as you’re able for the river trip on Friday, August 18.
