The City Council will be reviewing final plans for a new Kwik Trip convenience store on Monday night. Kwik Trip is proposing to start construction in the spring of 2020 at the northwest corner of Monroe Drive and Jonathan Carver Parkway…just north of Carver Elementary. As a part of the development project, a new signal light would be installed at the intersection of Monroe/Spring Creek Dr. and Jonathan Carver Parkway.
Open Gym at Carver Elementary School Starts January 12, 2020
Starting January 12, 2020, Open Gym will be held Sundays from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Carver Elementary.
Open gym is free – participants should bring their own balls and equipment.

Santa’s Coming to Carver Village Christmas – Saturday, December 7, 2019
Carver Village Christmas will be on Saturday, December 7, 2019, from noon to 2:00 pm at Carver Village Hall, 316 Broadway in downtown Carver. Santa arrives by fire truck at 12:30 pm. There will be treats, crafts, and a coloring contest.
Please bring a non-perishable food item for donation. Remember to bring your camera to take pictures with Santa.

Property owners in the City of Carver recently received a “Truth In Taxation” notice. The notice provides the proposed tax impact, based on the preliminary tax levy set in September, for the City of Carver, Carver County, Eastern Carver County Schools, and some smaller taxing agencies. The notice also provides a meeting date and time, for each governmental unit, to give residents the opportunity to review, comment, and question the proposed tax levy and associated 2020 Budget.
The City of Carver will be giving residents and property owners the opportunity to comment on the proposed tax levy and 2020 Budget for the City of Carver on Monday, December 2, at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers of City Hall. New Pastor at Crown of Glory Lutheran Church

December 7 and 8th, the Reverend Laura Laughlin will be officially installed as the new Associate Pastor of Faith Formation at Crown of Glory Lutheran Church, 1141 Cardinal Street, Chaska, MN. The installation ceremonies will be performed at the Saturday, December 7th 5:00pm service and at the two Sunday, December 8th, 9:00 and 10:30am services. The installation will be officiated by the Reverend Craig Pederson, the Assistant to the Bishop of the Minneapolis Area Synod of the ELCA. Pastor Laura will join the staff which is led by Senior Pastor Reggie Klindworth who has served at Crown of Glory for 12 years. Crown of Glory recently completed a major expansion of the church, and last year celebrated their 50th year serving Chaska and the surrounding area.
Pastor Laura’s education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and English (2012) from Wartburg College, Waverly, IA and Masters of Divinity from Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN (2016). Pastor Laura began her ministry at Norman-Davenport Lutheran Parish, North Dakota (2016-2019).
Crown of Glory’s Call Committee was comprised of a nine-member, cross-generational team who spent a year seeking the perfect candidate for Crown of Glory. At a special congregational meeting on Sunday, August 4, the Crown of Glory congregation unanimously voted to call Pastor Laura Laughlin to fill the Associate Pastor’s role at the Church. The primary areas Pastor Laura will focus on include intergenerational ministries, adult education, and milestone ministries.
“God is certainly up to new and wonderful things at Crown of Glory, and I am both humbled and excited to be part of this vibrant and active church. I look forward to discovering more of God’s creation in this growing community,” states Pastor Laura. She proudly proclaims she is a “PK2” (both parents are pastors). Pastor Laura, husband David, son Oliver, and dog Emma reside in Carver.
