Rivals Tryouts August 9 – Youth Softball Players Wanted

The Rivals is a Chaska Youth Softball Association supported program that is based in Chaska, with teams at the 14U and 18U levels. The teams will consist of players primarily from the Chaska High School boundaries, however, players and families from surrounding communities may be interested and are welcome. (Read more…) The goal of the Rivals program is to provide a community based team at the highest level of play possible. The teams will be formed with players with the experience and skill level to compete against “A” or club level teams. It is a great alternative for players that do not want to make the year round commitment to a club team, but do want to play competitively. The teams will be managed by hired and experienced coaches and be given personal and skill developmental opportunities during the off season.

The Rivals teams will play in the fall ball and summer leagues, and participate in off season clinics at Pitch2Pitch. We are looking for players that will be dedicated, but we will do our best to be flexible during the off season to accommodate the multi-sport players. During the primary softball season players are expected to make softball their priority sport and are expected to attend all practices and games.

Registrations are now open for the 14U and 18U Rivals team tryouts to take place on August 9 at Chaska Community Park. Check in for the 18U tryouts will be at 3:30 with tryouts taking place from 4:00-5:30. Check in for the 14U tryouts will be at 5:30 with tryouts taking place from 6:00-8:30. Players that are eligible to tryout must meet the following age requirements:

14U: Age 14 and under on January 1, 2017
18U: Age 18 and under on January 1, 2017

Players that make the team will be required to complete a team registration and pay registration fees at that time. An installment plan will be available. The registration fees are as follows:

14U Rivals – $750 registration fee + $150 volunteer fee (to not be billed if volunteer hours are fulfilled. This fee includes the 2016 Fall Ball season, off season training opportunities, and the 2017 Summer season.

18U Rivals – $600 registration fee + $150 volunteer fee (to not be billed if volunteer hours are fulfilled). This fee includes the 2017 Summer season and off season training opportunities.
