Community Park – Ice Rink

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Spring…well, NOT REALLY. The Public Services Department has been working hard to flood the ice rink to build a strong safe skating base for all the residents to enjoy. Unfortunately, with the unseasonably warmer temperatures, we have been unable to make additional ice, and what ice we were able to make has now melted away.

We are continuing to watch extended forecasts and colder temps are in the forecast (if they are correct), we hope to have ice for skating closer to New Years.

When we have cold enough temps, flooding consists of spraying many layers of water between 1/8” to 1/4” across the entire surface. Temperatures need to be in the mid to lower teens, and the colder it is, the better.

We know how much everyone would love to be out there skating and we will be continuing to try making ice when temperatures allow. In the meantime, get those skates sharpened and sticks taped and we will hopefully be skating soon enough.
